We're hosting a low-key, hands-on Backyard Coffee Cupping & Sample Swap — a chance to taste each other's roasts, compare notes on green origins, trade tips on roast curves, and hang out with fellow local enthusiasts.

Event Details

• Date: Saturday, September 12 · 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
• Rain Date: Sunday, September 13
• Location: Common Grounds HQ – 3445 Uplands Dr., Ottawa (Backyard Session)
• Capacity: Strictly capped at 10 roasters to keep it hands-on and interactive

What to Bring

• 50g–100g of any whole bean coffee you've home-roasted recently (in exchange, you'll go home with the equivalent amount from the Micro-Reserve Collection)
• Your favourite tasting spoon (if you have one!)

What We Provide

Kettles, sample cups, scales, grinders, AeroPress (×3), tasting sheets, and fresh snacks & drinks.

How It Works

We'll set up a blind cupping flight of everyone's roasts — evaluating fragrance, flavour, and body — then reveal who roasted what to compare drop temps, air settings, and roast times.
